Edu-Kinestetik aus empirischer Sicht.
- Eine empirische Überprüfung des Muskeltests -
Abstract
Summary
The first part explains the relation between Educational Kinesiology and learning disorders
with regard to their contents and from the point of view of Educational Kinesiology. In the
following, the empirical research work dealing with this correlation is reported and critically
judged. The second part starts with the discription of the muscle test (being the basis of
Educational Kinesiology) which is then looked at in the light of the available empirical
research work. This is followed by an empirical study of our own. By means of a double-
blind experiment with 99 children (aged from six to eleven) suffering from language and
learning disorders the muscle test is examined on the basis of two statements in Educational
Kinesiology to find out whether it is reliable as a diagnostic method. Considering the
available results of research as well as the results of our own study it is right to say that the
muscle test is, at present, and from the emprical point of view, no valid method in
diagnostics. It must also be pointed out that, at the moment, there is only insufficient evidence
concerning the efficiency of Educational Kinesiology.
