The department combines the disciplinary and subject-specific pedagogy of the subject, Chemistry, and the associated cooperative study programmes, Applied Natural Sciences, Applied Natural Sciences, Ceramic Science and Engineering and Water Science and Water Management.

Research

With 5 professorships, the department provides a wide range of services in applied and basic research in the fields of ceramics, polymer research and the analysis of microplastics, for example. A wide range of research methods are utilised.
