Update and temporary shutdown of KLIPS

Important dates

  • KLIPS downtime: KLIPS willbe unavailable from June 8, 2026, to June 12, 2026.
  • KLIPS shutdown: The shutdown will take place in the morning of June 8, 2026.
  • Restart: KLIPS will be available again in the late afternoon starting June 12, 2026.

The shutdown affects students as well as teaching and administrative staff. The student registrar office and the examination office will also have no access to the systems during this period and will not be able to use the following functions, issue certificates or degree documents, etc.

What does the temporary shutdown mean for you?

In the summer of this year, parts of the KLIPS campus management system will be updated. This is a first step towards making the system more modern and user-friendly for the future. Very extensive work is required for the upcoming update, which is why KLIPS must be completely switched off during this period.

As a student ...

    •  ...you will not be able to register for or withdraw from exams via the system.
    •  ...you will not be able to register, deregister, or submit digital theses.
    • ...you will not be able to download certificates (e.g., certificate of enrollment) or submit requests (e.g., leave of absence, name change).
    • ...you will not be able to view the course catalog, your personal timetables, or your grades.
    • It will also not be possible to register for or withdraw from courses via KLIPS.

If you wish to withdraw from an exam, please contact the University Examination Office immediately during the shutdown. The usual deadlines apply. A medical certificate is required for withdrawals due to illness.

As an employee...

    •  ...you will not be able to create, change, or plan exams, for example. The same applies to courses.
    •  ...you will not be able to enter grades.
    • ...you will not be able to make room requests.
    • ...you will not be able to communicate with your students via KLIPS.

What do you need to do?

Please make a note of the shutdown period in your calendars today so that you can take it into account in your personal study planning or the organization of your exams and teaching.

Any data already stored will of course remain intact. Once the changeover is complete, you will be able to access the systems as usual with your usual login details.
