AI systems and tools

The University of Koblenz provides AI systems and tools for its members and affiliates. To ensure the safety and reliability of AI, its use within the European Union is governed by a regulatory framework, in particular the AI Regulation. This framework sets out rules for use, which are set out in the Information sheet for users of AI should be noted. Furthermore, reference should be made to the Courses and training programmes the University of Koblenz, which teaches students how to use the technology with competence. Competence in using AI systems is mandatory under Article 4 of the European AI Regulation.

Here is an overview of selected, approved AI tools at the University of Koblenz:

Note on approved AI systems

The scope of these regulations does not cover every instance of AI, but rather the targeted use of AI for university purposes in study, teaching, research, transfer and administration. The list of approved AI systems therefore includes, in particular, solutions that are provided by the university, recommended by it, or can be deliberately integrated into university processes. AI functions embedded in standard products (face unlock on smartphones, autocomplete in search engines, etc.) are not approved individually; they are subject to the general data protection, confidentiality and due diligence requirements.
