- Make mistakes: The best way to learn is to make mistakes and then correct them.
- Make sure you study regularly: Work in short but regular bursts; avoid cramming. Keep at it!
- Use your vocabulary: Don’t just learn your vocabulary – use it actively.
- Make what you’ve learnt meaningful: Vocabulary sticks better in your mind if you incorporate it into stories. Link new knowledge to what you already know – build a network of knowledge!
- Find some motivation: Discover what drives you. Intrinsic motivation is the most effective! Vary your tutorials and try out new things to keep your learning process interesting.
- Have fun: Having fun whilst learning makes you more open to new ideas.
- Immerse yourself in the language: Watch films in your language, listen to music and speak to native speakers. Change the language settings on your mobile phone to the language you want to learn.
- Learn with others: Explaining things to others helps you learn.
- Test yourself: Testing yourself helps you to remember.
- Track your progress: Keep in mind what you have learnt and focus on the knowledge you don’t yet have.
