Selection and acquisition of literature and media

The required literature for the university's disciplines is selected by the faculties and institutes. Their acquisition is handled by the university library.

Acquisition proposals

Please offer acquisition proposals to your institute or faculty.
You may also submit them to to us here (only for monographs). We will examine the proposal and forward it to the corresponding institute.

Personal collections

Professors and scientific staff members may keep a personal collection. The media should remain in the lecturers office and may be acessed upon request.

  • Please set up a personal collection in person at our information desk.

Gifting literature to the university library

The library is thankful for gifts that meaningfully expand our collection. To avoid unnecessary effort for donor and donee, please notify us about planned gifts. Our acquisitions department will be happy to consult you about your planned gift.

We reserve the right to use incoming gifts that were not asked for as we see fit. In case the media can not be used for our collection, we can only give it back if it is picked up in person or if postage for a return is attached. We recommend attaching a way to contact you when sending them in.
