Selection and acquisition of literature and media

The required literature for the university's disciplines is selected by the faculties and institutes. Their acquisition is handled by the university library.

Acquisition proposals

Please offer acquisition proposals to your institute or faculty.
You may also submit them to to us here (only for monographs). We will examine the proposal and forward it to the corresponding institute.

Personal collections

Professors and scientific staff members may keep a personal collection. The media should remain in the lecturers office and may be acessed upon request.

  • Please set up a personal collection in person at our information desk.

Gifting literature to the university library

The library is thankful for gifts that meaningfully expand our collection. Please note:

  • Gifts are only accepted when accompanied by a donation form. If you would like to transfer a departmental library collection, please use this form.
  • We need to examine each gift before adding it to our collection. To avoid unnecessary effort for donor and donee, please notify us about planned gifts.
  • Our acquisitions department will be happy to consult you about your gift: buch@uni-koblenz.de.
  • Literature that arrives without being asked for will not be accepted.
  • Gifts that we can not add to the collection can be picked up in the library for 14 days. Please add a note on the donation form if you wish to collect any books we can not accept.
