The Herbarium of the University of Koblenz comprises the following collections:

Historical Collections:

• The Melsheimer Herbarium, containing specimens for the *Flora of the Middle Rhine* (1884)
  

• Herbarium folio containing specimens from the Middle Rhine and South America (c. 1830)
  

Research collections:

• Lichens, with a geographical focus on Central Europe and East Africa, comprising approximately 10,000 specimens
  

• Mosses, with a geographical focus on Central Europe and East Africa, comprising approximately 8,000 specimens
  

• Vascular plants, primarily from East Africa (particularly Rwanda) and Madagascar, with approximately 5,000 specimens
