Young Researcher Lara Blomenkamp Presents Spine Imaging Research at IEEE ISBI 2026 in London

Our young researcher Lara Blomenkamp participated in the IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI) 2026 in London, one of the leading international conferences in the field of biomedical imaging.

At the conference, she gave a talk entitled “SLD: Segmentation-Based Landmark Detection for Spinal Ligaments” and presented our poster “Patient-Specific Cobb Angle Determination from 3D Lumbar Spine Meshes: Novel Automated Approach.”

ISBI brings together researchers from engineering, medicine, computer science, image analysis, and clinical practice. The conference is jointly organized by the IEEE Signal Processing Society and the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society and focuses on mathematical, algorithmic, and computational methods for biological and biomedical imaging.

Lara’s contribution highlights our ongoing work on automated, patient-specific analysis of spinal anatomy and clinically relevant parameters. Her participation at ISBI 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to present our research to an international expert audience and to exchange ideas with leading scientists in biomedical imaging.
