PISA-Ceco II
PISA-Ceco II builds on the extensive dataset collected as part of PISA-Ceco I and provides a more in-depth analysis of competence-oriented teaching in Mathematics / Natural Sciences.
Building on the data collected in the predecessor project, PISA-Ceco II examines the relationships between multidimensional educational goals, competence-oriented lesson planning and design, the teaching experiences of teachers and pupils, and the characteristics of learners and teachers in relation to cognitive and non-cognitive learning outcomes in Mathematics / Natural Sciences.
The focus is particularly on the following questions:
Multidimensional educational goals
What is the relationship between teachers’ attitudes towards multidimensional educational goals and their competence-oriented (a) lesson planning, (b) lesson design and (c) perception of teaching in a typical lesson in the subject groups of Mathematics / Natural Sciences?
Motivational-affective experience
What is the relationship between competence-oriented lesson design and the motivational-affective experience of teachers and 15-year-old students in a typical lesson in the subject groups of Mathematics / Natural Sciences?
Characteristics of pupils and teachers
What is the relationship between multidimensional student competencies from PISA 2022 and teacher characteristics from PISA 2022 and the PISA-Ceco study, and the actual classroom experience in a typical lesson in the subject groups of Mathematics / Natural Sciences?
Learning outcomes
What is the relationship between the general competence-oriented nature of teaching and the cognitive and non-cognitive learning outcomes of young people from PISA 2022 in relation to the subject groups of Mathematics / Natural Sciences?
Recommendations for mathematics and Natural Sciences teaching are to be derived from these findings.
