Self-Regulation: Advancing Interdisciplinary Thinking
Key Competence in Changing Learning and Living Environments
The new research area ‘Self-Regulation: Advancing Interdisciplinary Thinking – key competence in changing learning and living environments’ examines how self-regulation can be strengthened at all levels of the educational system – from school pupils and students to teachers.
In close collaboration between the Zukunftsforums Lehrkräftebildung weiter:denken and the Zentrum für Lehrkräftebildung (ZfL), theoretical perspectives and empirical research are brought together in an interdisciplinary manner to develop innovative approaches to teaching, learning and professionalisation.
The focus is on questions relating to the promotion of self-regulation in learning processes as well as the professional self-regulation of teachers. In teacher training, teacher education in particular, self-regulation is a key competence that contributes to the sustainability of pupils’ educational success and has, amongst other things, positive effects on health, satisfaction and well-being. This approach enabled the potential area to successfully secure approval in an internal peer review process.
