AIDS-Hilfe Koblenz was founded in 1987 and changed its name to RAT&TAT Koblenz e.V. in 2015. The association sees its tasks as working with HIV-positive people and people suffering from AIDS as well as providing health counselling on sexually transmitted diseases. The telephone counselling service provides information about HIV/AIDS and advises those affected or worried about a possible AIDS infection. Deutsche Aidshilfe (DAH) is the umbrella organisation of around 120 organisations and institutions in Germany. It represents the interests of people with HIV/AIDS in the general public as well as in politics, academia and medical research. Independent Patient Counselling Germany (UDP)
The UPD provides information and advice on health-related issues according to the principles of evidence-based medicine. Evidence-based medicine seeks reliable information on the advantages and disadvantages of medical measures, their necessity and possible alternative courses of action. It is based on scientific evidence and not just on theories or expert opinions. Frauenenselbsthilfe Krebs Bundesverband e.V.
The women's self-help organisation offers those affected a wide range of support for cancer self-help in groups both locally and online. They provide support, information and counselling in any situation involving cancer. The focus is on breast cancer and gynaecological cancers. German Centre for Addiction Issues e.V.
The German Centre for Addiction Issues (DHS), founded in 1947, is the central umbrella organisation for German addiction support and addiction self-help. Almost all providers of outpatient addiction counselling and treatment, inpatient care for addicts and addiction self-help are represented in the DHS. The DHS takes a stand on the causes and consequences of addictive substance use and addictive behaviour and provides support for addiction self-help and addiction prevention. (dhs.de).
