Through activation of your library card or your Studicard you accept the current library and user policies.
During our service times, we are available to help in person and give out interlibrary loans. Outside of these times you can use our self-service check-out machines for regular loans, but you will not be able to access your interlibrary loans.

Outlets in the library
All our tables are outfitted with power outlets and USB-outlets which you can use to power your devices. Please only use these outlets to connect your devices. The existing bottom tanks in the floors are not available for general use, opening them is prohibited. The library is not liable for damage caused by using the tanks.
Break discs
To avoid long reservations of work stations you may use our break discs if you're taking a short break from studying.
If you leave your table, please set the current time on the disc.
After 60 minutes other users may clear your spot and use it themselves.
Please note that we are not liable for items left unattended.
Please return the discs to their boxes when leaving the library.
Copies and scans
There are copiers on our campus floor which work with your Studicard or your library card. Scanning is also possible.
Scanning books
We provide 2 specialised scanners for books on the campus floor. They scan in colour, greyscale or black and white with different formats available. You can save your scans on an USB drive or your laptop.
You may use your USB drive to print documents. Please save your files on the drive and select them on the printer's interface.
Members of the university may also print PDFs via this website: https://profile.uni-koblenz.de/webprint.cgi Upload the file to the website and send it to a printer. Memorize the PIN and select your Printjob on the device.
A library card or Studicard has to be inserted into the devices on the wall behind the printers. The balance on the card will be charged automatically.
DVD-drives are available for loan to watch DVDs during our service hours. The drives may only be borrowed for one day and must be used inside the library. You do not need any extra software to use the drives, only a USB3-port. Please note that you need software and headphones to be able to watch movies on your laptop.
Mobile phones
Please mute your devices while in the library. Phone calls are not permitted inside the building.
Food and drinks
Drinks in closed containers may be brought into the library. Please be careful with books, media and devices of the library and other users. Bringing food into the library is not permitted under any circumstances.
Lockers, lost and found
Bringing your bags and umbrellas into the library is not permitted. You may use our lockers to keep them safe during your visit. Please bring your own padlock to use them. We also keep a limited number of padlocks for loan. These may be borrowed in exchange for a deposit (ID, library card). Please note that we will clear the lockers out after closing. Your padlock will be broken open in the process.
Found items are kept at the service desk for a while, before being transferred to the university's lost property office.
Book cart
While working on dissertations and final theses you may reserve a lockable book cart. After reserving one, they are available for loan with the corresponding key for approximately 3 months.

The library also provides lockable book boxes you may reserve while working on dissertations or final theses. After reserving one, they are available for loan with the corresponding key for approximately 3 months.

Area for group work
Five group rooms are located in the rear area of our ground floor. These may be used for group projects and do not need to be reserved. Pens for the whiteboards may be borrowed at the information desk
You may also use the L-Lab (Learning Laboratory) to work as a group or alone. Here you will find Computers and large screens to work on files together.
Please do not use these rooms for regularly occuring events.
Please do not leave devices or valuables in the rooms as they can not be locked.
The regular rules of the library applies in these areas, except that talking with your group and using your phones is allowed for your project.
Carrels
There are 11 carrels split across both floors of the library. They may be used free of charge and without a reservation. Please only use these rooms while working alone.
