Prof Dr Hyo-Seon Lee is taking on three courses on the topic of "Social Change in South Korea: Compressed Modernity and People's Lives. A comparative perspective". The courses are aimed at students on the Bachelor's degree programme in Education and participants in the Gender Studies certificate programme.
The focus is on a well-founded international and comparative perspective on social transformation processes, gender relations and educational issues in the context of a dynamically changing society.
Prof Lee completed her doctorate at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg from 1992 to 1996 and has many years of experience in German-Korean academic cooperation. She has conceptualised and supported numerous DAAD summer schools, international teaching formats and bilateral projects in and with Germany. Her close ties to the German academic system and her proven expertise in international universtiy teaching enrich the courses at the University of Koblenz in particular.
The current guest lectureship is an expression of the cooperation between the University of Koblenz and Kangnam University, which has been built up and continuously intensified over many years. This cooperation, largely supervised by Prof Dr Wiebke Lohfeld has become firmly established in joint projects, exchange formats and academic networks and will be further strengthened by the DAAD guest lectureship.
The University of Koblenz is thus sending out a clear signal in favour of international networking, innovative teaching and the expansion of global perspectives in the social and Educational Sciences.
