The D-Semesterticket is a semester ticket cheaper, "student version" of the well-known Deutschlandticket. The price of the D semester ticket is 60% of the regular Germany ticket (29.40 per month compared to 49€ per month).

It enables the nationwide use of all public transport in 2nd class. It is only valid in conjunction with an official identification document (identity card or passport). It is not transferable.

The D semester ticket is not valid on long-distance trains (IC, EC, ICE) or long-distance bus services. The D semester ticket does not entitle you to take other people with you. Children travel free of charge on public transport up to their 6th birthday.

The ticket is valid for the duration of one term (6 months).

About the Homepage in KLIPS you can view your corresponding DST authorisation code. This can be used to activate the D-Semesterticket in the VRM D-Ticket app after registration.

If you are enrolled at the university in winter semester 2024/25, you can retrieve your ticket at any time. To do so, please follow this Instructions.

Please note that it can take up to 10 weeks between application, payment processing by the VRM and dispatch of the chip card and you may not receive your chip card in time before the start of the semester. We strongly recommend that you use the APP.

Yes, the D-Semesterticket can also be used as a Chip card variant can be ordered. There is an additional charge of 10 euros for students for the creation of the chip card by the VRM. For technical reasons, the D-Semesterticket cannot be provided via the UniCard.

The required application is now available on request from the Student Registrar's Office available. Please submit the legibly completed and signed application to the Student Registrar's Office as a printout. No. As soon as a chip card has been issued, the authorisation for the mobile phone ticket is deactivated. It is therefore not possible to use the chip card and mobile phone ticket at the same time.

Bicycle transport is regulated by the local transport associations. The following regulations apply to bicycle transport in the VRM:

• On weekdays: free transport from 9 a.m.; before 9 a.m. a single fare level 4 ticket is required for the bicycle.
• At weekends: free transport all day.
• A folded folding bike is always considered as luggage and can always be carried free of charge.

Outside the VRM, the local regulations of the respective transport associations apply. Find out in advance whether it is possible to take your bike with you free of charge or whether a ticket is required.

After the Student body with a large Majority (~88%) in a survey in favour of the introduction of the D semester ticket the student parliament has submitted a corresponding recommendation to the Administrative Board of the Studierendenwerk which amended the corresponding schedule of fees and initiated the contractual agreements.

Yes, according to the contract for the Deutschlandticket, all enrolled students are obliged to purchase the D-Semesterticket. In accordance with the principle of solidarity, all students pay a share - regardless of whether they wish to take advantage of the offer or not.
