AI in Studying and Teaching

The use of AI systems must be disclosed. In academic papers, presentations or teaching materials, it must be made clear to what extent content was supported by AI. AI output must be documented in a comprehensible manner and may not be presented as an independent intellectual achievement.

Users always bear full responsibility for content created with the support of an AI system. This includes critical examination for accuracy, distortions, discriminatory elements or incorrect references. An AI system cannot accept any liability.

AI systems must not be used to circumvent one's own academic performance or to enable attempts at deception. Results must be reflected upon, reviewed and categorised in the academic discourse. The rules of good research practice apply unchanged, even when using AI.

In order to be able to use AI systems safely and responsibly, all members and affiliates of the university need the appropriate competences. The University of Koblenz supports this skills development by providing information, training, advice and a leaflet. Users are encouraged to regularly reflect on and further develop their own AI skills.

Personal, confidential or copyright-protected data may not be entered into open AI systems. Use is restricted to authorised university systems. The provider's terms and conditions must be observed before use.
