Computer Science and its Didactics

The working group of the professorship is to research the conditions for success of informatics education as well as to develop and test innovative concepts and materials for informatics teaching. Informatics education is not limited to specialized knowledge of information technology, but also includes intellectual approaches such as algorithmic and systemic thinking, creative problem solving and constructiveness. These skills are becoming increasingly important in an increasingly digitalized world and also permeate areas such as the environment, society and the economy, which is why the professorship will work closely with the didactics of the other subjects taught at the Koblenz site.
