KI and COVID: Explainability and decision support through AI in pandemic situations

Along the distributed data analyses, especially of personal data in the health sector in the context of pandemics such as COVID-19 (e.g., for tracking infections), a systematic survey and analysis of IT security, privacy, and compliance requirements in the context of Health Data Intelligence will be conducted and methods and tools will be developed to address these requirements for a secure and privacy-compliant exchange of medical and personal data. Furthermore, it will be investigated to what extent current architectural approaches for the analysis of data distributed across heterogeneous infrastructures can be used in this context (such as the International Data Spaces approach and the domain-specific instantiation Medical Data Space, or the GAIA-X approach for promoting data infrastructures and preserving data sovereignty).
