CZS STEM-Forum Events

Interdisciplinary colloquia

The Interdisciplinary Colloquium enables doctoral candidates, postdocs and junior professors at the University of Koblenz to present themselves and their projects to an audience from outside their research field. Through that they have the chance to receive suggestions for the further development of projects from various disciplines. The Interdisciplinary Colloquium also creates an interdisciplinary forum that invites people to get to know each other, exchange ideas and network. The focus is therefore not on evaluating or judging the research projects, but on presenting academic topics in an understandable way and allowing the university public to participate and thus gain new impulses.

Interdisciplinary workshops

The offered workshops aim to promote interdisciplinary dialogue and interdisciplinary research in STEM. A particular focus is on supporting scientists in raising funds for interdisciplinary projects and increasing their success rate of funding applications. To this end, the workshops provide information on third-party funding and convey creativity techniques to strengthen the scientific exchange. In addition, workshops on writing techniques, and opportunities to write texts are offered and space is created for dialogue and feedback.

Interdisciplinary guest lectures

The aim of the guest lectures is to initiate cooperation projects with other universities and thereby to interconnect the University of Koblenz even more closely with the (inter)national scientific community. To achieve this, the university's STEM faculties are given the opportunity to invite researchers from other universities to present their interdisciplinary projects, ideas or approaches to the university public.

Interdisciplinary panel discussions

Once a term, a current topic is highlighted by researchers from various disciplines at a panel discussion. On the one hand, this can provide interested parties with information about the topic under discussion and thus the research focus in Koblenz. On the other hand, the event gives researchers the opportunity to discuss content with colleagues from other disciplines and to initiate interdisciplinary collaboration projects.
