Taiwan Summer Institute Programme

In cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) in Taiwan, the DAAD offers the opportunity to gain an insight into the Taiwanese cultural and scientific milieu. The stay is possible at universities and research institutions in Taiwan.


Programme description

The programme is aimed at students, graduates and doctoral candidates in the natural and engineering sciences as well as in the humanities and social sciences (with the exception of the respective regional philologies and sciences such as German studies, Sinology, Asian studies, etc.).


Funding is provided for a stay in August/September of each year, which consists of two sections:


  • one-week introductory seminar with excursions into the country, introductory language course and culinary experiences

  • a research stay of approximately two months at university or non-university research institutes.

Duration of the scholarship

The scholarship is awarded for two months (August and September) and cannot be extended.


Scholarship benefits


The scholarship includes the following benefits:


MOST: a monthly scholarship instalment of approx.900 euros (subject to change).

Application

Applications are submitted directly via the DAAD portal. The application portal is open from 15 November to 15 February of the following year.
