1. Registration

The University Library is open to students and staff at the University of Koblenz, as well as to people from the surrounding regions. Library and user policies apply in the University Library of Koblenz, which you accept by registering.


Anyone wishing to borrow media on site must register online to create a library account.
The
Access to electronic media which the University Library has licensed is only available to university members via the university network and requires your computer ID or your university ID and the corresponding password. A library account or separate registration with the library is not required for this.

Please apply for your library account online using the links on this page. Once you have registered online, come to the circulation desk during our service hours and we will activate your Studicard or issue you with your library card.


2. Activation / Registration at the circulation desk

To collect your library card and have your account activated, please bring the following with you:

  • Your valid ID or

  • Your passport, together with a current certificate of residence and

  • your student ID card, if applicable.

Young people under the age of 18 also require the Consent Form of a parent or legal guardian.

Library card / Studicard

You need a library card to borrow items from the library and to pay any fees.

Students University students can Studicard which we can activate for you once you have registered.

Following the registration, university staff will receive the Library card, which can also be used as method of payment and for Paying fees at the self-service payment machine in the library.

External will also receive a library card (chip card) from us following online registration.
The Registration fee for external users is a one-off payment of €12 plus €8 for the Issuing a library card (€20 in total).

The chip card, which serves as a library card, enables cashless payments in the library and in the canteen.
Borrowing is free of charge. Please note, however, that it may be difficult for non-university members to meet the return date. (Fees).

Data Protection

The processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and in compliance with the data protection regulations of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate applicable to the University Library (State Data Protection Act).

The Privacy Policy of the Koblenz University Library applies in the library.

Fees

The fees are governed by the Rhineland-Palatinate State Ordinance on Fees in the Fields of Academic, Further Education and Research (Special Schedule of Fees) of 10 February 2022.
