UNIVERSITY OF KOBLENZ
Universitätsstraße 1
56070 Koblenz
If you would like to start a completely different study programme, please apply for the first semester. You do not need a semester classification. The following applies to you Application procedure as for first-semester students. An application for recognition must always be completed and enclosed. This will be printed out automatically with your application.
Examples:
Previous study programme Bachelor of Science Applied Natural Sciences, desired study programme Bachelor of Education Physics or Chemistry and German. The recognition of achievements in physics or chemistry would have to be checked here.
Previous study programme Bachelor of Education Biology and English, desired study programme Bachelor BioGeosciences. The recognition of achievements would also have to be checked here.
For each subject that you not in the previous study programme but would like to continue in a similar study programme (so-called lateral entry), you will need a subject semester classification for a specific subject semester for the application. In order for this to take place, the recognition of your previous achievements must be checked. You apply for the higher term via the application portal of the University of Koblenz. We will classify you according to the semester classification of the Examination Office based on your data from the application for recognition. You must submit this together with the application for admission. We will then forward the application internally. This will be printed out automatically as soon as you enter any previous study achievements in the application portal and if your subject semester classification is not yet available by the application deadline, e.g. because you are still completing creditable coursework and examinations in the current term, you can submit the certificate at a later date before immatriculation. Please note, however, that you can only be enrolled for the semester for which you have been granted admission and for which you also have a subject semester classification; please also note the information on examination entitlement.
Then apply for the semester following your previous immatriculation.
Example: You are currently enrolled in the 2nd semester of your Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences at the University of Mainz and want to transfer to the University of Koblenz for the next term. Then you apply for the 3rd semester Bachelor Computer Sciences. If you are already studying outside the standard period of study, select the maximum possible semester.
During the application process, you will be asked to attach an application for recognition. This will be internal to the Examination Office and the semester classification is made.
Please also note the information on examination entitlement.
Audit entitlement
Immatriculation for a degree programme at the University of Koblenz is not possible if you are no longer entitled to take examinations in the desired degree programme because you have already definitively failed examinations and coursework that were definitively failed at a (subject) discipline in Germany or abroad in the desired degree programme or in the same subjects but another degree programme or in the same modules of another degree programme. When making an application for a study place, you must state whether and in which study programme you have lost your entitlement to take examinations, regardless of which examination caused the loss of entitlement or which examinations are still open if the maximum number of examination attempts has been exceeded. The loss relates to the corresponding study programme.
Transfer from the University of Koblenz
If you wish to transfer from the University of Koblenz to another German university, the regulations of the receiving (subject, discipline) university apply. Please contact the relevant offices at the respective (subject, discipline) university for more information.
