University Examination Office

The office of the Examination Board is integrated into the University Examination Office. As a rule, the University Examinations Office is the first point of contact for students and makes the necessary decisions in clear cases.

Guiding Principles of the Examination Board

The Examination Board is responsible for all decisions to be made on the basis of these regulations. It endeavors to establish a regulated and smooth operation with regard to the examination regulations, including the necessary processes, responsibilities and decision-making channels. The University Examination Office is usually the first point of contact for students and makes necessary decisions in clear cases. The Examination Board decides on exceptional cases, as well as on fundamental matters. When making decisions, the following key objectives must be weighed up:

  • To treat students equally in general,
  • to communicate this to students whose performance and abilities fall short of expectations at an early stage,
  • to treat students in a humanitarian manner, especially in exceptional situations,
  • To enable university diversity and maintain freedom of teaching.

The Board strives to achieve the greatest possible transparency in its work and to communicate its decisions and actions accordingly.
