Prof. Dr. Anja Schiepe-Tiska and Anna Heinle contributed to the recently published "Learning and performance tasks in Mathematics and sciences lessons: An analysis of the orientation towards educational standards and the motivational potential in subject and school comparisons" with.
On the basis of 5,877 tasks from the PISA-Ceco-study, the article analyses the extent to which learning and performance tasks are oriented towards educational standards and their motivational potential. The results show, among other things, that learning tasks more frequently address communicative and reflective requirements and have a higher motivational potential, while performance tasks focus more on subject-specific knowledge and methodological skills. In addition, subject, discipline and school-specific differences in task design become apparent.
The article thus provides important impulses for a standard- and motivation-orientated design of tasks in the classroom.
