Funding for research stays with (potential) cooperation partners for interdisciplinary projects in the STEM disciplines
Each year this funding enables several doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers without a professorship and W1 professors from the Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Computer Sciences or subject-specific pedagogies to travel to a university or non-university research institution in order to network with other researchers, learn methods or work on joint research projects. In this way, the CZS STEM-Forum promotes interdisciplinary dialogue between researchers at an early career stage, enables them to expand their competences and cooperation and advances interdisciplinary research projects. The research stay can be part of an ongoing doctorate or research project or can be used to initiate new projects.
Proposed projects must be interdisciplinary, i. e. include at least two subjects from the disciplines of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Computer Sciences or STEM subject-specific pedagogies. Subjects from other disciplines can replace a STEM subject if reasonable. Researchers who do not work or conduct research in a STEM field can also apply for funding, provided their interdisciplinary research topic has a clear STEM connection or they cooperate with researchers from STEM subjects.
Application deadline: None. Applications can be submitted throughout the whole year, but must be submitted in full to the programme coordinator at least six weeks before the planned acquisition date.
The available financial resources are divided equally between the first and second half of the year and allocated according to the number of received applications.
