Applicants with a professorship appointment (without Abitur)

The amendment to the Rhineland-Palatinate Higher Education Act has opened up new opportunities for professorship appointments without an Abitur to study at a university. The changes came into force on 01/09/2010.

After that, it is possible for people to study at university,

• who would like to gain further qualifications through a Master craftsman examination or have completed a comparable examination. This gives them direct university entrance qualification.

• the one Professorship appointment have graduated with a qualified result (overall grade average of the vocational training examination and the final certificate from the vocational school of at least 2.5). This gives you the subject-specific university entrance qualification for studying at universities. The prerequisite is that the content of the professorship appointment is sufficiently related to the study objective.
