Since 2003, talented and motivated pupils in Rhineland-Palatinate have had the opportunity to study part-time.

The "Südwestverbund" serves to strengthen cooperation in the areas of teaching and studies as well as continuing education and research between the Rhineland-Palatinate Technical University Kaiserslautern-Landau, Saarland University, Trier University and the University of Koblenz.

Completion of a certificate course qualifies the holder to teach an additional subject (extension subject).
