Arrive

The general students' committee (AStA) offers numerous programmes for new students:

Join in

Students can participate in student life on campus in a variety of ways. This is possible, for example, within the student self-administration (StuPa, AStA, departmental student organisations), in working groups of the AStA or in university groups.

There are almost no limits to the chances for participation and everyone is welcome.

Offers of assistance

Student self-administration

All regular students enrolled at the University of Koblenz are members of the student body. The student body is a corporation under general public law. As such, it administers its own student affairs within the framework of the law and its statutes.

Student Parliament (StuPa)

Once a year, students elect the student parliament, which, in addition to electing and monitoring the General Student Committee, also decides on the student budget.

General Students' Committee (AStA)

The general students' committee represents the interests of all students. This includes cultural, social, ecological, economic and political issues as well as subject-related matters. In concrete terms, this means that the various subdivisions of the general students' committee organise cultural and political events, advise and support students, including in financial emergencies, arrange free initial legal advice and take care of the organisation of events for first-year students.

Last but not least, the general students' committee takes a stand on university and science policy issues and is actively involved in study reforms.

Departmental student organisations

Students of several related subjects or study programmes can join together to form a departmental student organisation. Each departmental student organisation has a student council representative who is the first point of contact for questions about the timetable, finding learning materials and problems with lecturers.

University groups

Students can organise themselves into university groups. University groups are supported in their work by the General Student Committee for the funding of cultural and social life on campus.

Working groups

Students can participate in the general students' committee's activities and events in working groups. For example, you can be part of the SummerUni or Orientation week and help with the planning, or realise political work in the Queer or Feminism working groups. If you prefer things a little quieter, you can help out in the UniGarten working group.

University committees

There are student representatives on almost all university committees. They are there to represent the students' voice and make it heard.

Some committees exist for each faculty, e.g. the Faculty Council (FBR for short).

Better2Gether - the Uniguides

At Better2Gether, you can find support or become a uniguide yourself and accompany others. Students advise students in everyday life, organise events on topics such as timetabling, the internship phase or starting your studies, or report on their everyday life at fairs, in schools and at the University Experience Day. Mentors receive training from us on topics such as counselling, university knowledge and event management.
