Campus Community Partnership

In the context of curricular and extracurricular university activities such as courses and volunteer programmes, the term ‘Campus Community Partnership’ (CCP) refers to the collaboration between students and ‘community partners’. The aim of this collaboration is to promote engagement with socially relevant issues and questions and to contribute to improving living conditions in the respective communities.

Specific examples of such activities are:

  • Courses based on experiential learning that address specific social needs (service learning),

  • Research and qualification work involving students and community partners (community-based research) as well as

  • voluntary work by students outside the curriculum (community service)

Non-profit organisations, charitable or private social enterprises, civil society initiatives, groups and movements without a formal organisational structure, and public institutions can act as community partners. This survey explicitly does not refer to general research collaborations, technology transfer or the transfer of concepts and models between universities and community partners that are not related to teaching or are carried out without the participation of students.
