NOTE: PhD candidates who have submitted an application for acceptance as a doctoral candidate by the date on which the new doctoral degree regulations come into force (29 April 2015) can choose whether they wish to be examined in accordance with the old or the new doctoral degree regulations (Section 27 (2)).
